The Benefits of Blogging
It seems that everybody is blogging nowadays, so if your business doesn’t have a blog you may be feeling a little left behind. It might also be that you’re not really sure what the benefits of blogging are to your business. Well let me tell you some of the benefits that a well written business blog can bring to your business:
- It establishes a relationship between your company and your customers. It’s an ongoing conversation that shows you’re listening to the needs of your customers and responding to those needs.
- Your blog can give your company a human face in a world where advances in technology mean that automation, self service and long-distance communication are becoming the norm.
- Provided your customers are commenting on your blog it can be a superb source of ideas, feedback, and research. It can provide an immediate response to changes in your company and can become part of the development process.
Of course the other major advantage of a blog is that it provides delicious morsels to the hungry search engines. Regularly updating a blog with relevant content and links to authority sites can prompt the search engines to drive customers to your site, especially if your blog posts are picked up in social networks.
Of course there are one or two disadvantages to blogging but we’ll look at those another day.
